Ms Ma, South Korean adaptation of Miss Marple, premieres 6 October

Agatha Christie's Miss Marple character and stories have been given a South Korean twist in new contemporary television drama Ms Ma.

The series, produced by Good Productions, will premiere on Saturday 6 October at 9.05pm on SBS TV - a terrestrial broadcaster in South Korea. It takes the coveted peak Saturday night slot, which has been the channel’s home for recent K-dramas such as The Good Witch, Secret Mother and Let Me Introduce Her.

The 16 part adaptation centres around the title character, played by actress Yunjin Kim (Lost, Mistresses), who is falsely accused of murdering her own daughter and sets out to find the real killer. During the course of her investigations Ms Ma uses her unique insight into human behaviour to solve a number of other crimes, each of which are inspired by Agatha Christie’s original Marple novels.

The series was written by Jin Woo Park (Doctor Stranger; Land of the Wind; Conspiracy in the Court) and produced by Jay Yoon (Smile, Mom; Great Present, When Tomorrow Comes). Woong-in Jeong (I Hear Your Voice; Endless Love), Sung-hee Ko (The Night Watchman's Journal; Syucheu - the Korean remake of US series Suits) and Choi Kwang Je (The Package, Mr Sunshine) star alongside Kim, as well as B1A4 boy band member CNU.

Basi Akpabio and Leo Dezoysa are executive producers for ACL working alongside Amanda Groom, Managing Director of The Bridge who agented the deal with Good Productions.
